**About the role**

Building on our continued success, we are creating an experienced team for a suite of major rail projects in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

In this role we are looking for a Rail Operations expert who can assist the Project Director in leading and managing a consultancy team in the provision of operational, maintenance and asset management advisory services. This will involve:

- Assisting in leading and managing the project teams in the preparation and submission of key deliverables and tasks which might include service delivery plans, CONOPS, maintenance concepts, technical papers, KPI regimes, customer service plans and operational readiness plans.
- Acting as an interface in the delivery of services and resolution of project issues.
- Collaborating with other project team members in a proactive and engaging way, ensuring that members adhere to the client’s values, systems, and requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with our quality manual and operating procedures, as well as monitoring and reporting of progress to both the client and our senior leadership team.
- Contribute to investment options analysis with regards to operating models, timetable options, validating system design requirements, and network planning.
- Leading the development of Operations and maintenance concepts within a standards framework.
- Providing advisory services from a Network Operator perspective to provide operational oversight that enable the rail lines to operate efficiently and maximise performance capability, customer experience and capacity.
**Job Skills, Experience & Qualifications**
- Significant experience in Rail Operations and Maintenance, preferably with experience in a high-speed line environment. This will include implementing significant change in one or more impacted areas (Maintenance, Train Operations, Route Modifications/Signalling, Drivers, Signallers, stations/customer services)
- Experience in major network line speed improvement programmes or development of new high-speed lines.
- A proven ability to manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary advisory team on projects involving complex approvals, including delivery of high-quality outcomes to time and budget.
- Competent in building relationships with clients across a range of client stakeholders, including the ability to engage busy senior stakeholders and work with Subject Matter Experts on technical detail.
- Relevant and current professional qualifications combined with working knowledge of best practice in project management.
- Highly developed report writing and communication.
- Understanding of working to delivery budgets.
