My client is looking for a Logistics assistant who will be part of the logistics team ensuring the delivery and collection of third party items repaired or supplied by the Company. Working alongside other members of the logistics, sales, customer service, engineering and purchasing teams the LA will ensure that an integrated collection and delivery service is delivered in a cost effective and timely manner, whilst at the same time ensuring the Company is promoted in an appropriate manner.

Specific duties to include:

- Ensuring all incoming customer items are processed in a timely and cost effective manner
- Ensure all customer items are despatched in a timely and cost effective manner
- Vehicles are kept clean and tidy
- Logistics area is kept in a clean and tidy condition
- Provide cover for Logistics Supervisor and Driver as required

**Accountabilities**:

- To ensure all completed jobs are packaged and returned to the customers in a secure and efficient manner.
- To ensure jobs collected from customers are processed in a timely manner
- Operate in line with relevant legislation and company policies and procedures.
- To ensure quality levels are maintained and that collection/delivery levels are within agreed targets.
- To ensure vehicles are operated in a legal manner

- To participate in training and development activities to ensure own continuing professional development.
- To carry out self-study to ensure own knowledge remains current as appropriate.
- To continuously reflect on own performance and constantly strive to do better.
- To work to introduce changes to processes and procedures which will enable the company to improve its efficiency and profitability.
- To ensure that technical knowledge and awareness of industry developments enable the Company to achieve its targets, through provision of support for other members of the management team, wherever they are based.

- To assume any other tasks and duties required by the business, commensurate with level of role.

- To contribute to the overall development of the Company.
- Ensure that all objectives and operational plans within own area of responsibility link with the strategy, vision and objectives of the organisation.
- Comply with and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Motivate and support people within own area to achieve their work and development objectives and provide recognition when they are successful.
- To liaise and support all other departments when needed to ensure workflow is maximised and costs minimised.
- Assist create and maintain a culture within the Logistics department that encourages and recognises improved performance, cost savings and increased revenue.
- Communicate regularly, making effective use of a range of different communication methods, with all the people working within your area and show that you listen to what they say.
- Meet commitments made to others.

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:

- Full Driving Licence
- Fork Lift Licence (desirable)
- PC Literate - basic level of skill required.
- High level of professionalism.
- Willingness to embrace feedback, learn from results and take responsibility for personal development to acquire new skills and share knowledge.
- Self motivated, positive can do attitude and results orientated.
- Good interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Temp to perm
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: £20,000.00 per year
