Blossoms Community Walking Group is a vibrant initiative aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and community cohesion through the simple yet powerful act of walking. We provide a supportive environment for individuals from diverse backgrounds to come together, share their stories, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of walking and talking.

We are seeking dedicated Walks Leaders and Volunteers to join our team and contribute to the success of our community walking group. As a Walks Leader or Volunteer, you will lead walking sessions, engage with participants, and facilitate meaningful conversations on a range of life issues. This role involves providing a type of walking therapy where individuals can share their experiences, receive support, and connect with others in a safe and welcoming environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead group walks in Leyton and Stratford areas, adhering to planned routes and schedules.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere during walks, encouraging participants to engage in conversation and share their thoughts and experiences.
- Listen attentively to participants and offer empathy, support, and guidance where appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding principles at all times.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during walking sessions.
- Promote the benefits of physical activity and mental well-being within the community.

**Requirements**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and understanding towards individuals facing life challenges.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding guidelines.
- Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to volunteering for 1-2 hours per week.
- Comfortable leading group activities and facilitating discussions.
- Knowledge of basic first aid is desirable but not essential.
- Physically fit and able to walk for extended periods.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £5.00-£10.00 per year
