The post holder will work with the Lead Midwife for Smokefree Pregnancy and other team members in providing individualised stop smoking support to women and families in a flexible an innovative way. This post will contribute to tackling inequalities in health through promoting and supporting people to stop smoking. It focuses on engaging with people in communities and offering them practical support to change their behaviour to achieve their own choices and goals.

Provide intermediate stop smoking support throughout pregnancy and the post-natal period, using the support of interventions such as CO monitoring and Nicotine Replacement therapy.

Work with the specialist Smokefree Pregnancy lead midwife to deliver stop smoking support, undertake delivery of the Smokefree pregnancy incentive scheme with those women and families who meet the criteria, along with administration of the smokefree pregnancy data collection and collation.

Promote the general health and wellbeing of people who use the service through offering healthy lifestyle advice and support.
