**Job description**:
Within this role you will lead and manage support services, providing specialist advice to operational areas, and support business improvements, efficiency process changes and new initiatives and projects.

You will also be responsible for effectively managing, training, coaching, and driving a team, taking responsibility and accountability for performance outcomes.

The role will be based within a fast-paced operational environment and the priority for you and your team will be to deliver changes, in line with business requirements.

You will develop strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the Agency and wider within DVLA.
- Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:_
- Identifying and acting on opportunities arising from changes.
- Supporting the achievement of targets by reviewing and advising on current procedures through formal and informal briefing.
- Efficiently and effectively managing your team’s attendance, Performance and Conduct management policies, principles, and procedures.
- Taking appropriate action to mitigate and identify risk of non-delivery.
- Advising managers and stakeholders of issues so that they can be resolved in a timely manner.
- Managing the team’s contributions and performance to achieve business goals.
- Building own capabilities in managing change in the workplace, raising the awareness of the digital agenda and managing support/lead/communicate staff through periods of change.
- Driving Continuous improvement for the benefit of the business, advisors, and customers.
- Ensuring individuals and team colleagues adhere to Data Protection, Security, Health & Safety Policies and understand relevant employment law.

**Additional Information**

Therefore, the expectation is that you will spend a minimum of 60% of your working time based at your principal workplace (DVLA). We would encourage you to discuss the working arrangements for this role with us during the recruitment process.
