We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Booking/Reception Clerk to join our team at the St Bartholomew’s Hospital, located in West Smithfield, EC1A 7BE.

St Bartholomew's Hospital (Barts), is a leading, internationally renowned teaching hospital based in the City of London. They offer a full range of local and specialist services, which includes centers for the treatment of cancer, heart conditions, fertility problems, endocrinology and sexual health conditions.

**Job Summary**

The Booking/Reception Clerk is a patient facing role within the Breast Imaging department at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. Working hours will be 37.5 hours between to shifts Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 17:00pm and 9:00am to 17:30pm.

**Requirements**:

- NHS / administrative experience
- GCSE / A Level or equivalent
- Managing electronic diaries
- Familiar with booking systems
- The ability to work independently and prioritise workload
- Customer service skills speaking to patients and colleagues face to face and over the phone
- Knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Office packages

**Responsibilities**
- To schedule new and follow up appointments and to assist in reception duties as and when required by the service, ensuring that national and local targets are achieved and maintained.
- Maintaining electronic filing systems.
- To ensure that information is kept securely.
- To ensure any necessary information is disseminated in a timely and appropriate manner.
- To develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with the Directorate, Division and Trust.
- To ensure all requests via paper or order comms have been entered onto the system and that all patient details are validated prior to scheduling.
- To work closely with IEP (Imaging Exchange Portal) team to ensure that information regarding previous scans is sent in a timely fashion.
- To carry out other appropriate delegated duties as required.
- Act with integrity and as a good example at all times.
- Contribute positively to new ways of working and participate in modernisation initiatives, this may incorporate a change in technology, environment, or system.
- Undertake any training as deemed necessary
- Ensure that all Trust, Directorate and Departmental policies / procedures are adhered to.
