An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join an experienced and lively team in the Education Office in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is a leading department among the UK Universities with a reputation for excellence in both teaching and research. The department is part of the Faculty of Engineering and consists of approximately 750 undergraduates, 180 MSc students, 260 postgraduate research students and 200 staff.

Education Support Officers (PG) provide administrative support for a range of education tasks for postgraduate taught (masters - MSc) students throughout their whole life cycle from recruitment to graduation. Tasks will include supporting or taking a lead in admissions, examinations, student progression and community building. In addition, the post-holder(s) will work collaboratively with the other members of the Education Support team, providing cover where necessary, to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the Education Office. The post holders will report to the Department Education Manager.

**Duties and responsibilities**:
This role will provide full administrative support in the management, organisation and running of the full lifecycle of PGT degree programmes - This includes PGT Admissions, examinations and assessment, PGT community building and lifecycle management.

**Essential requirements**:

- Education to a minimum of A level (or equivalent) but ideally a first degree (or equivalent)
- Proven experience of administrative support preferably in a higher educational environment
- Experience and self-sufficiency in the use of Windows-based software and web based information systems such as Sharepoint. Experience of working with Spreadsheets/Databases (Excel/Access)
- A working knowledge of higher education policies and processes and of current issues affecting the higher education sector
- The ability to communicate effectively and to interact with staff, students and colleagues. Proven ability to understand, analyse, interpret and explain complicated information and data.
- An enthusiastic, methodical, accurate and dependable approach with the ability to plan ahead and cope with several activities simultaneously.
- Flexible and adaptable to working in a changing environment
- Good personal organisation and time management skills and ability to work with minimum supervision, prioritising work to meet deadlines
- Resourceful, flexible and able to work under pressure both as a member of a team and on your own initiative.
- Committed to the department and its staff and students with an understanding approach to their needs and requirements.

**Further information**:
This is a Full Time and Open-ended role based at the South Kensington Campus.

This role will involve some out of hours activity support such as Open days.
