Named Professional Safeguarding Adults and Children

The post-holder will be an integral part of our established safeguarding service reporting into the Mental Capacity Act Professional Lead and working closely with the wider safeguarding team to support the delivery of our statutory requirements.
The core function of this post is to support the provision and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures in the Trust. This includes working with partners and partnership boards, delivering training to Trust staff and multi-agency groups, providing information, guidance and advice to our adults’ and children’s workforce.
You will work closely with the safeguarding adults and safeguarding children’s specialists, and the Mental Capacity Act Lead, to develop knowledge and improve practice leading to better outcomes for our patients and clients.

The safeguarding service is an exceptional service to work for. We are a team of 23 providing specialist advice and operational support to staff across the mental health, community services and specialist services directorates within Oxford Health. We work collaboratively with partners in multi-agency boards and partnerships. What we need from you
- Relevant level of safeguarding experience and professional qualification.
You will have practical experience working with children, young people, vulnerable adults and their families. You will have experience dealing with complex safeguarding situations. You will understand the relevant frameworks and processes that underpin good safeguarding practice.
- Be compassionate, caring and creative with excellent communication skills.
You must have excellent communication skills - verbal and written. You must be able to explain complex areas of law and practice to a wide range of audiences, and offer advice and guidance to a range of professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively across directorates and across the wider system partnership
You will be able to work collaboratively with teams across all directorates and with partners across the wider system. You will promote excellent safeguarding practice throughout the work that you do.
