**About the Role**

As our Governance Lead, you’ll play a key role in the development and implementation of our Total Reward Strategy by taking ownership of the reward governance, ensuring and evidencing compliance with our regulatory requirements.

You’ll be an SME in the truest sense, and you’ll deliver invaluable support and guidance to the Society while working closely with colleagues in our People Services and Compliance team.

You’ll manage and support the end-to-end operation of the Senior Manager & Certification Regime (SMCR) at YBS. That includes activities such as;
- Overseeing the process to confirm roles and responsibilities in identified roles
- Managing the end-to-end process of fit and proper testing of individuals in identified roles
- Reacting to and actioning any changes as a result of regulatory change
- Implementing and operating a new SMCR System

Alongside this you will be supporting the process for identifying Material Risk Takers (MRT) in the organisation, ensuring that MRT requirements are understood by stakeholders, and that we are effectively managing the associated risk.

It’s a role that’s not just limited to the above, you’ll also play a key role in embedding and building knowledge of the Society’s Trust Code and supporting any issues relating to Conduct Rules.

**About You**

To be successful in this role you will need a good knowledge of SMCR frameworks, coupled with excellent stakeholder management skills. Alongside this you’ll possess;
- Deep knowledge of the financial services sector and the associated regulatory framework
- A broad understanding of Reward, coupled with an appreciation of wider HR Disciplines
- A methodical approach with great attention to detail
