Network Maintenance Operative

Scottish Water has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, flexible individual to join the Water Response Team working within the Glasgow/Clyde area within Customer Service Delivery as a water Network Maintenance Operative.
You will join a highly motivated team who are H&S focused and committed to delivering an excellent service to our customers.
**About the Job**
This is not just a task driven role - you will be empowered to take ownership of problems, investigate them fully, find solutions all while providing an excellent customer service.
As a member of our Water Response team you will work a 37 hour week within the core hours of 7am to 7pm. You will also be required to participate in an out of hour’s functional standby rota.
You will be responsible for carrying out repair and maintenance tasks on the water network while dealing with customer facing related issues as well as a range of other tasks. Focus of the role will be to ensure the resolution of customer issues and the recovery of any reputational impact our operations have on customers.
**Key Accountabilities/Tasks**:
- Putting the H&S of yourself and members of the public at the forefront of all tasks
- To contribute to and carry out routine repairs and maintenance on the Water Network infrastructure
- Dealing with customers on a day to day basis ensuring they are well informed of work being carried out and that there is mínimal disruption to the service
- To maintain Scottish Waters water assets
- Completing all necessary reporting systems for measuring performance and productivity
- Comply with all Scottish Water safe systems of work, Chapter 8 NSRWA and all other relevant Health and Safety policies and practices
- Carry out small plant, equipment and vehicle safety checks
- Participate on an out of hour’s standby rota
- Dealing with numerous internal and external stakeholders
**Essential Skills/Knowledge Required**:
- Driving licence.
- Be able to work as part of a team or as a lone worker
- Basic IT skills.
- Basic report writing skills
**Desirable Skills/Knowledge Required**:
- HGV /360/180 excavator
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of water network
- Previous experience using Cat and Genny
- Understanding of H&S for site working
- CPCS Qualification
- NSRWA qualification
- Basic Ground Maintenance skills
Salary Range: £19,105 - £27,650 (dependent on skills and experience)
