**Management Accountant**

We are recruiting a Management Accountant to joining our finance team based at our Birmingham offices.

You will be working closely with the Group Financial Controller and wider finance team, dealing with all aspects of management accounts and preparation of reporting.

We are a firm of accountants & business advisers, who operate from five offices in the Midlands and have 34 Partners and Directors and over 200 staff.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Assist in the preparation of all financial information; supplied on an accurate and timely basis.
- To prepare management information and account for review to tight deadlines.
- Work closely with the company partners when required.
- To support the Group Financial Controller in dealings with internal audits.
- To produce key performance reports in a timely manner; including but not limited to, WIP and debtor review, billing and recoveries, chargeable hours performance, bank funding report and cash-flow projections.
- To support the Group Financial Controller in the preparation and administration of the management information (including accounts).
- To prepare monthly statistical information for the practice and to use analytical procedures and accounting ratios and other benchmarking techniques

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- To have an awareness of tax knowledge (Sch D and VAT) and the effects of these taxes on a set of accounts, to ensure Dains complies with current legislation.
- To have an awareness of current UK auditing and accounting standards.
- To have a basic knowledge of accounting computerised software and systems operated by the internal finance team (e.g. Opera, XRL, Sage, Sage Winforecast, etc).
- To have an excellent understanding of relevant Microsoft Office software, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel and any other packages relevant to the role.
