**Role**:
**Who You Are**
- You are an administration assistant with excellent keyboard skills. You are numerate enough to carry out calculations relating to various parts of the service and have an understanding of the City Council services and Best Value and quality service delivery. You have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of people and respond to customer issues and action solutions in a positive manner. You have the ability to work as a team member and to maintain, use and understand the need to protect public records, files and statistical information. You are able to deal with difficult and challenging situations assertively and supportively. You are committed to practising and promoting equality of opportunity and non-discriminatory practices and to providing a quality service to meet customer needs. You understand and are committed to the Vision and Values of Liverpool City Council. You are available to work flexibly any day between Mondays to Sunday from 8.00 to 18.00, including late night working, and willing to work from any location in Liverpool City Council. You are willing to undertake training as and when required.

**What the job involves**
- As an administration assistant, you'll be directly responsible to the team leader and working in multi-functional teams covering administration, the collection of local taxation, cashiering, and customer contact. You'll be delivering first class services to all customers, conducting general administrative duties related to the production of school travel passes and working on all types of cases and accounts, ensuring that appropriate procedures are followed. You'll be tasked with helping safeguard benefit expenditure, preventing and detecting fraud wherever possible, and working cooperatively with investigators, other staff, and other organisations to tackle benefit fraud and maintain standards of integrity. You'll contribute to the process of continually improving customer service, utilise relevant ICT systems, assist in records, files and statistical information creation and maintenance, and provide administrative services while adhering to the City Council's commitment to equal opportunities and customer excellence.
