**Head of Market and Customer Insight**
Are you interested in human behaviour and understanding why people do the things they do, and make the decisions they make? Do you have a passion for data and using it to help businesses make evidence-based decisions? Do you want to help shape the experience for future Salford students?
We are looking for an experienced Insight professional to cover a 12 month period of maternity leave at the University of Salford. This cross-Directorate role will bring together both market and customer insight to encompass the full student journey. As Head of Customer and Market Insight, you’ll undertake work across 5 key areas:
- Student recruitment
- Student Voice
- Course portfolio
- Admissions
- Marketing & Communications
Interviews are expected to be held on 19th March.
**Key responsibilities**
- Provide inspirational leadership to the Insight team, enabling them to deliver the objectives and plans of the team by focusing on the performance and development needs of the team, and by ensuring that the team is making best and most efficient use of individual skillsets.
- Maximise the effective utilisation of colleagues’ skills, minimise duplication of effort across teams and ensure that the refocussed team is delivering greater value to the university.
- Work closely with the recruitment and marketing teams to ensure marketing plans and recruitment activity delivers in line with feedback from (prospective) students and is focused on areas of growth, where University of Salford can have a compelling offer.

**A bit about the Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations team**
Our Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations team are responsible for the core range of activities that promote and engage with our external environment and stakeholders. This includes both prospective and current students, businesses and our local community. Made up of Marketing and Communications, Student Recruitment and Outreach and External Relations teams, we work together to plan and deliver key activities that support the University’s ambitions for growth, diversity and an increased profile. They also provide marketing expertise to colleagues and support events, corporate projects and new initiatives across the University.
