**Job description**
To provide advice, assistance, and support to young people. To attend to their practical, physical, and emotional needs. To act as an appropriate role model and to work closely with them to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential. In a high activity-based placement. This is a 28-day crisis provision, and you will be operating on mobile provisions such as Barge Boats, Caravans and Mobile Homes.

**Accountable To: Service Manager**
**Specific Duties and Responsibilities**
- To maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and cultural needs of children and young people within the care of Inspirations. Working from the guidelines from the 1989 Children’s Act, National Minimum Standards, Every Child Matters, and any other relevant legislation.
- As this is a high activity placement you will be required to participate and engage in activities with the young people
- To provide a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment in which children/young people can feel secure and free from harm.
- Establishing positive relationships with young people and always offering them unconditional and positive regard.
- Helping young people gain self-control by challenging unacceptable behaviour and rewarding acceptable, pro-social conduct.
- Ensuring that each young person’s care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs.
- To act as a key worker or co-worker for a young person to ensure that the young person’s care plans are up to date and that all their care needs are being met.
- To provide a positive role model to be able to offer advice, guidance, and assistance where appropriate. Establishing relationships which young people perceive to be positive, warm, and rewarding - Providing advice, assistance, and support on a 2:1 basis to enable young people to address past and present difficulties
- Providing emotional support at times of difficulty or stress
- Assist the Manager in the implementation of the philosophies and policies of bear care services.
- Assist the Managers in ensuring that each young person has their needs met through effective care planning and documentation.
- Act as a key person to our young people taking on responsibilities for specific areas of care and support. This includes ensuring all medical needs are met and supporting the young person to advocate his/her needs and wishes.
- Facilitate and support our young people in decision making. Promote choice and involvement.
- Ensure all staff members work in the way that demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the rights of the young people.
- Encourage our young people to maintain acceptable levels of personal hygiene.
- Lease with professionals and other agencies and service manager.
- Record all information about the young people and ensure effective communication throughout and handed over to relevant people.
- Once trained administer medication in accordance with compony policies and procedures.
- Promote good practice within the team.
- Direct staff Members of your team in their duties in the absence of the manager ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Delegate tasks to RSW and monitor to ensure high standard of work is completed.
- Assist Mangers with induction of new staff members and day to day running of the provision.
- Maintain professional knowledge and boundaries within the team.
- Attend and complete all mandatory training supplied by Bear care services.
- Report immediately to the managers of any illness of any infectious nature or accidents of any young person, staff, or others within the provision.
- Have good and effective understanding of fire procedures by following the risk assessments provide and completing updates when required.
- Complete and oversea daily and weekly Health and Safety checks and repot immediately any faults or potential hazards.
