Crematorium information:
The Downs Crematorium opened in 1941 on the site of Brighton and Preston Cemetery and is situated in a residential area close to the centre of Brighton.

We are here to help you with whatever you would like for the funeral service. Our dedicated and caring staff treat every family with dignity and respect. At the service we will be there to help you every step of the way.

We have two Chapels and can accommodate both large and small funerals. As part of our commitment to caring for local families we offer a service time of 45 minutes, which is longer than many other crematoria. The crematorium also has access for the disabled, disabled toilets and a hearing loop. We can help you arrange the service according to your cultural and religious needs.

Our peaceful gardens of remembrance offer a variety of personalised memorials for you to choose from, including roses and private gardens. On a clear day our gardens offer beautiful views of the sea. Our memorial staff can show you around the gardens at any time and help you to make your choice of memorial. Our gardens are open 365 days a year.

There are two entrances to our grounds. The entrance off Bear Road is closest to the Crematorium and the chapel where funeral services are held. Access to the cemetery can be gained via the entrance on Hartington Road.

**The Downs Crematorium** **is looking for a compassionate, dedicated individual to join our team as an Administrator. **What Will I Be Doing as An Administrator?**

As an Administrator, you will be responsible for liaising directly with Funeral Directors and Ministers, ensuring any specific requests from the family regarding the chapel set-up are carried out.

Other duties will include:

- Inputting the cremation and burial paperwork onto our bespoke online/computer system to comply with Industry regulations.
- Preparation of all documentation to facilitate the daily operation of the crematorium.
- Maintain accurate records to comply with industry regulations
- Liaise with Funeral Directors, Ministers and families/clients ensuring that any specific requests are inputted in the database regarding services that are carried out
- Preparation of banking, client invoices and supporting credit control with branches
- Maintaining accurate, indexed records of funeral arrangements
- Maintaining confidentiality when processing legal burial and cremation documents
- Ensure that stationery stocks are kept at a reasonable level, without shortage or overspending

**What Do I Need?**
- Previous experience in a Customer Service and Administrative position.
- Proactive approach and ability to communicate effectively with a range of people
- Presentable at all times, acting with professional conduct and showing empathy.
- Excellent attention to detail** (Essential)**

**Advantageous**:

- Previous experience in the industry, though this is not required, as full training will be provided.
