This role will provide leadership and management in the creation of briefings and reports based on inspection evidence and will lead approaches to sharing and dissemination of inspection findings effective across the education system. The post-holder will lead on the development of a range of creative approaches to support continuous improvement through communicating key messages from scrutiny activities and exemplifying effective practice identified through inspection.

This exciting role works closely with senior leaders and HM Inspectors. It will seek to create opportunities to facilitate professional discussions using inspection evidence, including effective practice that drives continuous improvement to improve outcomes for learners. The role holder will be key in supporting the scrutiny directorate to continually improve.

The role holder will manage a small team to support this area of work.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the development and publication of briefs, reports and publications based on inspection evidence, coordinating across both the communications and content management teams.
- Lead, manage and implement a range of creative approaches to promote inspection evidence and highly effective practice using multiple communication channels.
- Lead and coordinate the drafting of briefings and other correspondence for high level meetings.
- Ensure provision is in place to provide senior leaders with specialist advice based on inspection evidence.
- Develop, lead and implement a strategy for identifying and sharing effective practice identified through scrutiny activities, which involves using research, inspection findings and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Contribute to advice and guidance which is evidence-based to produce information and reports which are high quality and inform current and future education provision and practice.
- Manage the quality assurance of all work within the specified area, monitoring and reporting on work undertaken to ensure agreed standards of delivery and outcomes are achieved.
- Perform a leadership and line management role in relation to direct reports, providing guidance and direction as necessary and promoting the culture and values of the organisation.
- Engage in any activity concurrent with the role that you are competent to perform and that adds value to the organisation’s goals.

Essential Criteria & Qualifications:
1. Highly effective communicator with significant experience of develops clear, creative and detailed reports presenting complex information clearly and in different formats.

2. Strong analytical skills, the ability to draw on a range of evidence to make links to intended outcomes.

3. Highly effective organisational skills with the skills to balance competing priorities while being responsive to new demands.

4. Experience of leading a strategic high-profile project in a collaborative way and taking creative approaches to delivering solutions.

**Qualifications**
Educated to a degree level and/or equivalent experience of working at a local and/or national level.
