Our client one of Europe's busiest ferry port, handling 33% of UK-EU trade, worth £144bn per annum. Each year more than 2 million freight vehicles, 2 million tourist vehicles and 10 million passengers pass through the Port.
They are seeking a HR Assistant with outstanding administrative and communication skills. Superb organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and work in an agile environment. The successful HR Assistant should display strongconflict management and decision-making skills with a solid understanding of employee relations, recruitment process, learning and development process, efficient in scheduling and HR systems. To provide a pro-active assistance and administrative support serviceto the Human Resources Department to enable an efficient, effective and confidential HR service to all employees.
Duties of the Post Holder To pro-actively support the Human Resources Partners and Learning and Development Partner in the provision of administrative services, which include, but is not limited to, the following duties:
- Maintaining HR systems, electronic and paper-based, ensuring that all records are secure, accurate and up to date and relevant information passed to other stakeholders as appropriate. Supporting the end to end process of the employee life cycle.
- Assisting with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties. Providing clerical and administrative support to Human Resources Partners and Learning and Development Partner. Working in collaboration to support our people in delivering a high performanceHR experience.
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to Human Resources activities (recruitment, training, employee relations, new starters, leavers, probation, appraisals, absence management etc), ensuring we have the correct documentation and informationto best inform our managers and HR team. - Coordinate HR objectives/projects (meetings, training, surveys etc) and take minutes.
- Has a passion for continuous development and keeps up to date with internal and external changes in relation to employment relations, including legislation.
- Creation of in-house certification for issue and maintenance of training records.
- Carrying out internal system audits to check quality against standard, and follow up corrective actions, communicating with employees and managers on any gaps.
- Liaising with training providers and employees to confirm arrangements for training delivery, following the procurement process to ensure effective supply of goods and service for the HR team.
- Engaging with all internal and external customers to create a positive working experience with every interaction.
