**Position**:
This role is responsible for leading the creative services team, overseeing as well as playing an active part in the delivery of all aspects of the creative process for the design of direct mail packs, marketing material and digital assets. The role covers the full end-to-end design process from idea generation through to concepts, design and art working across a range of different clients. Working predominantly with charities but potential to work across other sectors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Leading on the development of creative for charity appeals and raffles from the generation of ideas/scamps through to concepts, design, artwork and proofing, liaising with the client at each stage.
- Leading creative brainstorming sessions with internal & external stakeholders, facilitating creative briefing meetings with clients and presenting concepts.
- Ownership of creative schedules ensuring adherence to agreed timescales, keeping the Account Management Team up to date on the status of projects.
- Management of third party creative and copy freelancers ensuring requirements are clearly briefed and deliverables are provided on brief and to budget.
- To support growth of the Creative Services team through development of excellent client relationships and delivery of market-leading, stand-out creative.
- To maintain a long-term view of clients’ creative campaign plans.
- Responsibility for the creative design and art working processes ensuring adequate checks are in place to enable the successful delivery of accurate artwork for each and every campaign.
- Ensure quoting procedures are followed and management of team budget.
- Line management of the creative team, working with the Client Development Director to expand the team as demand for creative services grows.

**Requirements**:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

- Proven experience managing creative projects from concept to delivery
- A creative thinker with the ability to come up with new ideas for stand-out direct mail pack design
- Demonstrable design experience with a strong portfolio.
- Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- An understanding of the techniques and materials used to design printed communications
- Attention to detail
- A team player
- Use of Adobe Software including Indesign and Photoshop
- Use of Microsoft Office

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

- Previous creative experience within the charity sector, preferably involving direct mail.
- An understanding of offline print/production techniques and pack formats
- Familiarity with design techniques used to design digital media
