**Location**: Hybrid working - Daventry, Northamptonshire / Gaydon, Warwickshire / Work from Home

**Status**: Full time permanent employee

**Salary**: Negotiable based on experience + Benefits

We are presently seeking to fill a Description & Operation (D&O) Technical Content Author role.

You will join a friendly and innovative team working with a global automotive manufacturer to deliver technical publications, including user guides, owner manuals, service and repair methods, workshop manuals, illustrated parts catalogues and dealer documentation.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Authoring systems Description and Operation (D&O) content
- Liaising with the technical training team to establish all objectives, check progress, quality check and publish content as needed.
- Developing and authoring automotive D&O topics of vehicle systems to be uploaded to a technical global dealer portal.
- Tracking progress and reporting out on all activity to line manager and stakeholders.
- Collecting and reviewing D&O related information

**Your Skills and Experience**
- Experience in a technical authoring role, or with writing and delivering similar textual and graphical based documentation of a technical nature.
- The ability to work to strict deadlines with mínimal supervision.
- Strong technical knowledge and/or hands-on experience within the automotive service and repair industry is essential.
- Strong IT skills are essential. Experience with CAD, Cortona, HTML, XML, SCORM wrapping, Articulate, and web-based CMS would be a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge or experience of Simplified Technical English (STE) is desirable.
- Strong information gathering ability
