**Job description**

This is a really exciting time to join the MMO as we become an independent coastal state, embedding new repatriated functions and services with an increased focus on the protection and enhancing of the marine environment. This is a key leadership role for the MMO. To lead and deliver the definition and transformation of service within MMO. The role will include:

- Leading MMO approach to service design, researching and creating clear documentation of how our services operate, how they are supported by systems and people, and leading service design improvement delivery
- Lead on defining business change and working with Change Implementation and Digital to deliver
- Educate and coach business colleagues on service redesign
- Defining and delivering effective and transparent mechanisms to create, capture, define and deliver a programme of continuous improvement
- Leading MMO’s engagement framework (design; planning and delivery) for external and internal stakeholders
- Manage the MMO communications team who manage all MMO internal and external communication
- Develop strategic mechanisms to ensure quality responses to customers, MP’s and external organisations around complaints and issues management, ensuring we meet our targets in terms of response times. Lead the analysis of service data to ensure learning to transform the services offered
- Leading the setting of customer service expectations, baselining our current delivery and developing mechanisms for measurement moving forward

The role will work with the Executive Leadership Team and Senior Leadership Team across the organisation to ensure effective mechanisms are in place to build a foundation for and evolution to a total service organisation.
