An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the Health Boards Information Governance Team.

As the Trainee Information Governance Administrator you will be supported to become the first point of contact for all information governance queries, and requests for information under legislation such as the Freedom of Information Act and Data Protection Act. In order to develop within the role the opportunity will be given to attain NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Business Administration. This is an extremely varied role and you will be involved in all elements falling within the remit of the wider team meaning that no two days will be the same. It’s an excellent position to learn about Information Governance, and all it entails, from the ground up, and a key opportunity to build up your administration skills, experience, and qualifications.

This is a permanent post, which will enable you to progress within the Information Governance department, or within another department within the Health Board. It is predominantly based within the Wrexham Information Governance Office, however there is opportunity to hot desk from other sites if required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The post holder will have excellent communication skills being the first point of contact for the IG team. The post holder will be empowered to make decisions in line with service level agreements (SLAs), and policies and key performance indicators (KPIs), in order to provide a seamless one contact service where possible.

The post holder will accurately input into, and review, the Datix risk management system and IG Servicedesk, produce reports as required, and undertake data quality checking.

The post holder will provide an administrative service to the IG management team, supporting diary management and organisation of meetings, programmes, and events as directed by the Information Governance Managers.

The post holder will have the ability to prioritise and manage a number of conflicting requirements to ensure compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and relevant legislation.

The post holder will be responsible for reviewing the national auditing system (NIIAS) for alerts on a daily basis, contacting individuals and their line managers as required, to inform them of potential inappropriate access to systems.
