About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee AAA Screener. As a key member of our Public Health Wales team, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission of improving the health and well-being of the people of Wales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to men attending community screening and surveillance clinics, ensuring they are fully informed and aware of the implications of AAA screening prior to gaining informed consent.
  • Perform abdominal ultrasounds to determine if an aneurysm is present or not, and provide accurate results and advice to patients.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to ensure the smooth operation of our screening program, including maintaining accurate records and reporting any issues or concerns.
Requirements
  • 5 GCSEs including English and Maths
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge of screening programs and medical terminology
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma level specialist training in a relevant field
  • Experience working in a clinical environment, particularly in a vascular or radiography setting
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Ability to speak Welsh
