About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee AAA Screener. As a key member of our Public Health Wales team, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission of improving the health and well-being of the people of Wales.
Key Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service to men attending community screening and surveillance clinics, ensuring they are fully informed and aware of the implications of AAA screening prior to gaining informed consent.
- Perform abdominal ultrasounds to determine if an aneurysm is present or not, and provide accurate results and advice to patients.
- Work collaboratively with our team to ensure the smooth operation of our screening program, including maintaining accurate records and reporting any issues or concerns.
- 5 GCSEs including English and Maths
- NVQ 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of accuracy
- Knowledge of screening programs and medical terminology
- Diploma level specialist training in a relevant field
- Experience working in a clinical environment, particularly in a vascular or radiography setting
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Ability to speak Welsh
