Role Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing Chetwood's data governance activities, ensuring the quality and integrity of our data assets. This role will focus on establishing and enforcing an enterprise-wide data governance framework, driving consistency and quality in our data, and ultimately enhancing the bank's trust in data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead data risk management across the organization
  • Translate policies into actionable steps to improve data management
  • Assess data quality, conduct root cause analysis, and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Identify business functions managing data locally and implement robust controls where necessary
  • Drive audit findings related to data, demonstrating improvements in Chetwood's data governance practices
  • Act as a subject matter expert on data-related issues, collaborating with stakeholders to communicate data risks and provide guidance, training, and educational materials
  • Complete data governance documentation, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), Record of Processing Activities (RoPA), and Cookie Privacy Assessments
  • Design and implement first-line exception reporting

Requirements:

  • Degree or advanced degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial services organization, with data or project management and oversight experience
  • Knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business, and technology issues related to managing enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
  • Knowledge of data architecture and technology solutions
  • Ability to effectively communicate insights to other business units
  • Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
