Spalding, United Kingdom Manor Fresh Limited Full time

An opportunity has arisen to join the Vegetable department as Vegetable buyer reporting to the Vegetable Procurement Manager.

The vegetable team handles a wide and diverse range of product groups and works closely with offsite co-packers, who pack directly into M&S under the MFL code.

Key tasks
- Manage daily stock provision across an agreed group or range of products ensuring M&S Technical standards complied with and reporting discrepancies to Vegetable Procurement Manager.
- Ensure daily stock provisions are to targets and within agreed cost structures.
- Manage co-packer relationships across their product range ensuring regular visits to build on the relationships, check product and enhance personal knowledge around availability.
- Regular contact with M&S merchandisers.
- Study customer forecasts on a weekly basis and act to effectively plan.
- Order stock with growers and co-packers in line with availability, product knowledge and technical requirements.
- Send forecasts to growers and co-packers on a weekly basis.
- Deal with claims and grower returns.
- Raise internal system purchase order numbers, check and agree grower invoices.
- Organise third party haulage for primarily in-coming produce.
- Network with internal departments, Finance, Packhouse, Intake, and Despatch to facilitate daily business needs.
- General office filing, delivery notes, both purchase and sales.

**Essential**
- Motivated self-starter with strong communication and conversational skills.
- Attention to detail, numeracy and literacy.
- Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
- Driving licence.
- Prepared to travel, UK and overseas on a regular basis.
- Flexible to undertake weekend working on a rota (mainly remote).

**Desirable**
- Experience in a similar FMCG role.
- Produce knowledge.

**Salary**: Up to £35,000.00 per year
