**Job description**:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self motivated person to join the DSIT Big Tech Unit. The Unit works across Whitehall to create a strategic and coordinated approach to Government’s relationships to the 'big five' tech companies, fulfil partnership opportunities and deliver against the needs and demands of this hugely exciting portfolio of companies.
- The role offers an exceptional opportunity to work on some of the most pressing policy issues in Government, with some of the biggest companies in the world.
- DSIT Big Tech Unit
- The DSIT Big Tech Unit is responsible for the UK Government's relationships with the biggest technology companies in the world (Apple, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft and Google). The team sits in DSIT's wider Tech Sector team, which also focuses on growing the digital economy, helping to ensure that the UK is the best place for tech businesses to start, scale and stay. The Tech Sector team works with industry to develop the digital skills we need to remain a global science and tech superpower and to enable people to participate in the digital economy and digital society.**Person specification**:
Key responsibilities

Some of your responsibilities would include:

- Leading on strategic engagement with two or more companies and coordinating senior ministerial and official engagements with the companies.
- Building and sharing knowledge of the companies and government engagement across Whitehall by supporting the team’s expertise products.
- Establishing strong relationships with other government departments to build a community of engaged officials.
- Leading on one or more of the Big Tech Unit’s priority policy areas, including working across Government with other government departments on shared priorities.
- Developing existing external relationships and establishing new relationships in order to help the Unit deliver on its priorities.
- Being flexible and working across the Tech Sector Team and wider Digital Economy Unit where necessary.
- Leading and contributing to cross-government commissions relating to Big Tech policy areas.
