**About the role**
A Managing Consultant at Avalere Health is responsible for the development of service areas, anticipating clients' current and future needs. They are responsible for significant commercial growth and revenue expectations. They lead the development of IP and approaches within their service area, using this for sales and team training. They review key proposals and coach senior and junior members of the team to improve performance across all areas.
**What you'll do**:
- Lead major proposals and pitches, identifying and motivating optimal teams across all capabilities (>£200K)
- Brief and lead cross capability project teams, maintaining the overall strategic vision and goals of a project
- Go-to provider of strategic expertise internally
- Provide leadership and direction on the development of the Go To Market practice area
- Act as an ambassador for the vision, values and strategy of the business internally and externally, and ensure optimal cross-capability working
- Help resolve conflict and ensure an open and collaborative culture is maintained
- Accurately monitor commercials across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring cost is controlled with scope adjusted where appropriate
- Organise tasks/workstreams to create high-performing teams, demonstrating excellent delegation and team management skill
- Mentor team members across the organisation, helping them to exceed their own perceived potential
- Act as an inspirational leader, driving commercially successful and cerebrally satisfying work whilst developing rewarding accounts and client relationships
- Build morale, encourage collaboration, creativity and innovation
- Identify new commercial opportunities that extend Avalere Health's capabilities
- Proactively identify approaches to improve margin and profitability
**About you**:
- At least 7 years of Consulting experience within the Life Science/healthcare industry
- Experience working with a range of pharmaceutical and biotech businesses to deliver commercial strategy across a range of therapeutic areas
- You have specific experience with Go To Market strategies
- Demonstrable track record in Business Development
- Experience supporting more senior consultants on varied projects, seeing projects through the entire lifecycle
- Able to pick up and develop client relationships and opportunities from first interaction (whether reactive or proactive), and pull them through into opportunities
