Due to the promotion of the current post holder, we have an exciting opportunity for a full time Administration Support Secretary to join our busy and diverse Gynaecology Specialist Nursing Team.

You will provide administration, clerical and telephone support to the clinical nurse specialists for Gynaecology-oncology, Endometriosis, Colposcopy and uro-gynaecology. This will include taking inbound calls from patients calling the CNS support hot line, passing over to the right person, updating patient records and databases, typing letters, arranging some appointments and so on.

You will provide clerical and secretarial support to the Gynaecology Specialist Nursing team, including being the initial point of contact to the inbound phone lines from patients and their carers to the specialist nurse hot line. The post holder will demonstrate excellent organisational and customer service skills, must be flexible in their approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity. The post holder will need to be competent in a full range of IT packages including Outlook and Excel.

**Duties will include, but not be limited to**:

- Responding to external and internal telephone queries from staff, patients and others and referring to appropriate person
- Acts as the single point of contact for the specialist nurse inbound hotline phones when on duty
- Communicates with a range of staff, users and visitors to the Trust / Department utilising a variety of communication methods including verbal, electronic and passing information in a format that is appropriate to the individual request.
- Communicate with patients over the phone, arranging appointments as necessary
- Provide admin support as required to the specialist nursing team and matron, including the maintaining of databases, patient records, and audit support. The post holder will also be required to on occasion, arrange meetings, take minutes and type letters.
- Be committed to the continuous improvement of data quality, taking personal responsibility for the quality of service provided and contribute towards and support service improvements.
