Cancer Services Validation Officer

The role of the Cancer Service department is to ensure that all reporting aspect of the cancer agenda are met. To support this is it imperative that the patients cancer journey is accurately recorded within the Somerset system, this role is to ensure that all pathways are validated against the national cancer agenda to ensure that the trust performance is correctly recorded. This includes 2 week wait, 28 FS, 31 day and 62 day targets.

This role will provide the administration function required within the guidance for the management of cancer patients to ensure that all patient who breach their waiting time have a full review of their pathway to understand any causes of the delays.

The role will work closely with both the Cancer Services Teams both internally and externally and clinical teams, to ensure that the information is recorded accurately.

This role includes supporting the department with the training of staff on the systems of work and processes of the department.

The post holder will be accountable for own actions and to manage their own workload.
