About the Role

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Officer to join their team as the primary point of contact for communications within the West Midlands Cancer Alliance. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and high-profile environment, collaborating with the national NHS Cancer Programme to improve the lives of people with cancer.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective internal and external communications plans for the West Midlands Cancer Alliance.
  • Manage media relations, digital communications, and stakeholder engagement to enhance the reputation and profile of the Alliance.
  • Support the WMCA for a minimum of three days per week, working closely with the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust communications team.
  • Lead on cancer-related internal and external communication campaigns and projects for the Trust as required.

Requirements

  • Education to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a communications role in a large organization.
  • Able to work unsupervised and be decisive within a specialized field.
  • Experience of working in a highly pressured, deadline-driven, and customer-focused environment.
