About the Role

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Officer to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the communications team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective internal and external communications plans for the West Midlands Cancer Alliance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the WMCA's positive reputation through proactive media relations, digital communications, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure the WMCA workforce is engaged and informed through regular updates and communications.
  • Communicate achievements and initiatives openly and transparently via PR, social media, and other communications channels.
  • Build and support strong local stakeholder relationships to increase engagement with the WMCA brand.
  • Deliver the local response to national NHS cancer campaigns and ensure the WMCA operates in line with national brand guidelines and communications guidelines.
  • Achieve value-for-money from communications activities using a range of tools.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a communications role in a large organization.
  • Able to work unsupervised and be decisive within a specialized field.
  • Experience of working in a highly pressured, deadline-driven, and customer-focused environment, delivering a high volume of work within timescales, deadlines, and within budget.
