Medical Receptionist and Care Navigator

To provide a first point of contact for patients and act as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors and other practice staff. To ensure that accurate and appropriate patient information is collected and maintained. Ensure efficiency of the appointment system and monitor availability. Provide general assistance and support to the Practice clinical and non-clinical team with a positive attitude.

Ability to use own initiative and ability to prioritise workload. Ability to work in a pressurised environment on a daily basis and be reliable and punctual. Ability to work as a team player and hold a common sense approach with a non-judgemental attitude. Good keyboard skills and an understanding of the principles of confidentiality in and out of the workplace.

An understanding of the importance of equal opportunities and diversity issues. A motivation and commitment to working in the NHS and being involved in patient care. To be able to care navigate patients to the most appropriate service to fulfil their needs. In the performance of the duties outlined in the job description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, practice staff and other healthcare workers.
