**OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB**
Creative Active Lives CIC Is funded for 9 months to employ a Community Engagement & Activities Co-ordinator to develop our community services and impact.
We are looking for someone who will pro-actively work with people and organisations across the community to develop and implement up to 6 community wellbeing or activity sessions per week for 6 months to benefit people at risk of social isolation, people with dementia, autism, physical or learning disabilities, carers, and disadvantaged children and young people, both in person and via Zoom.
We want to see initiatives that will support local people to lead initiatives and change, and that will, most importantly, enable previously isolated or excluded people to become participants, volunteers or leaders, and that will be sustainable beyond the grant funded period.
We want to help bring about social change and improve the quality of life in Sandwell and Dudley and the wider Black Country. Working with individuals, families and whole communities, the post holder will empower people and work with organisations to identify assets, needs, opportunities, rights and responsibilities.
The post holder will plan what they want to achieve with the Company Director and develop activities and services accordingly.
The post holder will actively develop links between communities, businesses and a range of other local authority and voluntary sector providers, such as the police, social workers and teachers.
The post holder will be frequently involved in addressing inequality and involving people perceived to be culturally, economically or geographically disadvantaged.
The post holder will actively develop and implement the organisation’s volunteering strategy and work with our partners to offer a wide variety of volunteering opportunities to meet community need.
The post holder will manage a limited budget to employ freelance sessional workers to deliver the sessions.
**MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**
- Develop new resources and community based activities in dialogue with the community, and in a way that enables others to lead initiatives.
- Create and manage a programme of in person and online wellbeing activities with multiple sessional freelancers
- Promote activities within the community and external stakeholders to increase participation
- Build links with other groups and agencies
- Contribute to income generation strategy and implementation
- Plan, attend and coordinate meetings and events
- Manage a limited budget
- Develop volunteer roles within the organisation
- Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures for training, management, development, recognition and exiting of volunteers.
- Support development and implementation of social media strategies for different projects and initiatives.
- Contribute to outcomes based evaluation, learning and monitoring systems.
**GENERAL DUTIES**
- To work at all times within the policies and procedures of Creative Active Lives.
- To promote the activities of Creative Active Lives.
- To attend and actively participate in team meetings and other events.
- Usual working hours are typically between 9am-5pm weekdays, but flexibility to work outside of regular office hours on evenings or weekends if required for planned sessional activities.
- To undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required to fulfil the duties of this post.

**Experience**
- Experience of implementing community initiatives
- Experience of managing wellbeing or activity sessions
- Experience of volunteer management
- Experience of engaging with key stakeholders across a variety of levels and audiences.
**Skills**
- Ability to connect with people at all levels to create and sustain initiatives for community benefit
- Ability to work with and relate to all types of people in a diverse and multi-generational community, and with language or cultural differences.
- Good time management skills
- High standard of computer literacy
- Ability to plan and implement local marketing and social media strategies
- Confident communicating in a variety of ways, with good interpersonal and facilitation skills
- Ability to inspire, motivate and lead
**Knowledge and understanding**
- Working knowledge of sessional activity planning and development
- Understanding of safeguarding issues around vulnerable and other groups
- Demonstrable understanding of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on local communities.
