This a temporary post of 12 months.

The shift pattern for this position is 4 days (To be confirmed) 8.30 - 4.30 (Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within WestMARC (West of Scotland Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre) for an enthusiastic, motivated Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist, to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team for maternity leave cover.

WestMARC provides a range of rehabilitation technology services for the West of Scotland. This area includes six Health Boards and stretches from Oban in the north to Dumfries in the South. Falkirk in the east and the islands of the Inner Hebrides in the west. It serves over 52% of the Scottish population (about 2.6 million people) and as such is the biggest service provider of the five Scottish rehabilitation technology centres. Our services are conducted within our main base at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and at satellite locations in hospitals, home environments and schools across the West of Scotland.

You should have a broad range of transferable Occupational therapy/Physiotherapy skills and an interest to develop in our wheelchair and seating speciality.

On commencement of this post you will be provided with a comprehensive mentored training program to support development of your skills and competency in this specialist clinical area. Once this training period has been completed you will work as an autonomous practitioner providing assessment, prescription and training in the use of wheelchairs, pressure relief, cushions and special seating to facilitate the patients independent functional mobility and quality of life.

The successful post holder will be provided with regular supervision, and support with their clinical development from their Clinical Specialist Team Lead.

Driving license essential

This post is 30 hours per week and is a fixed term maternity cover for one year.

Hours are 8.30 - 16.30 Monday to Friday (days to be discussed)
