Cambridge, United Kingdom University of Cambridge Full time

We are looking for an experienced postgraduate administrator to join a central team supporting postgraduate recruitment in the School. You would be joining other colleagues within the team who are focussed on increasing the resilience of the School's postgraduate administrative service to postgraduate applicants and students, and to support and develop postgraduate office staff. This is a great opportunity for someone with a broad portfolio of postgraduate administrative experience as well as an awareness of postgraduate student recruitment priorities.

In this role, you would be expected to spend a significant proportion of your time working in departments to provide additional support and to gain an in depth understanding of their operational processes. You would work with postgraduate offices to map and review processes and share practice. Where a department has an unexpected and immediate short term staffing crisis, you would work with them and provide additional operational support until longer term solutions can be found.

You will also be expected to work with departments to support them with postgraduate student recruitment, conversion, and communications, including, for example, mapping prospective postgraduate student journey and touchpoints, enquiry and relationship management, open day activities, student ambassador schemes, alumni profiling, webinars, online Q&A sessions, webpage developments, virtual tour content production, and recruitment staff departmental visits.

You will need to be able to work collaboratively with academic and assistant staff in departments as well as the University's professional services in relevant areas, such as international recruitment, UK events, and external affairs to develop recommendations to support postgraduate recruitment, to implement them and to measure their success.

You will need to be educated to degree level or have relevant equivalent experience. This role requires a flexible approach to a variety of duties and the ability to work on your own initiative. You should have good organisational and communication skills with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines. Good team working skills and a willingness to assist others in their work are a pre-requisite of this role. You must be highly competent in using the Microsoft Office suite e.g. Word, Outlook and Excel and relevant student record systems

The University of Cambridge is committed to supporting our staff to thrive both professionally and personally. We aim to support a good work/life balance, whilst retaining the positive aspects of our unique in-person environment and culture.

This role is based in central Cambridge. We practise a hybrid working model and the role will involve a combination of office-based and remote home working. The frequency of the remote elements of the role can be discussed with the recruiting manager. We will be happy to consider requests for flexible working.

The interview date for the role is 21 April 2023.

The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
