Aila is excited to announce we’re supporting in the recruitment of a Qualified Finance Manager in St Albans, for a leading independent multi-site hospitality business. Our client has over 1,000 sites in over 22 countries worldwide with a turnover projectedto exceed £60m next year.
Our client has emerged from the pandemic on a robust financial footing, and plan to take advantage of the post-pandemic environment to develop the business further. Their ambitious plans include expanding their sales to customers in Europe and further expandingtheir offering.
We are looking for an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant to who will report to the Financial Controller, primarily focusing on delivering all aspects of their accounting and financial reporting. You will also be involved with forecasting as well as day-to-dayfinance operations working with a team of two Assistant Accountants.
This is an opportunity for somebody already working as a Finance Manager in industry, or an individual working in a mid-tier accounting firm that’s looking to move into industry for the first time and into a varied Finance Manager role for a medium sized butgrowing business.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and interpret monthly management accounts, including liaison with Managers to produce detailed overheads forecasts.
- Produce the year-end accounts to trial balance level, and liaise with auditors to produce the statutory accounts, ensuring FRS102 compliance
- Business partnering with internal stakeholders to analyse, control and challenge overhead costs, training and supporting them in using the new system
- Support the day-to-day operations of the UK accounting team and ensure that all processes are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Assist the implementation of the new ERP system in the UK and overseas. This will include adapting their accounting, reporting and control processes, and developing the new accounting system functionality.
- Work with the UK accounting team through this period of change and develop and support them to manage the new systems and processes.
- Supervise the production of VAT returns.
- Produce other regular and ad hoc reports and analysis.
- Drive the continual improvement of processes, reports and internal control within the accounting team, with a focus on the forecasting and control of overhead costs

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced and motivated Qualified Accountant with comfortability within a varied finance role, which encompasses both financial accounting and management accounting within a small team. They are also looking atthe implementation of a new ERP system, therefore interest in this area would be highly desirable.
