Overview of Business Support Officer (Finance Assistant)
Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Business Support Officer (Finance Assistant) to join an expanding team.
The Main Purpose of Business Support Officer (Finance Assistant):
" To deliver excellent administrative and business support services by statutory requirements and in compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
" To ensure effective and efficient service delivery and act as a point of contact for complex enquiries (including minor complaints) that cannot be resolved by the Core Business Support staff; coordinating, reporting, fixing, and monitoring minor complaintsto the service area, as required.
" To work collaboratively with colleagues across the Business Support Service to develop, implement and monitor systems and processes, as necessary, to ensure efficient and seamless service delivery for service users.
" To undertake high-level complex business support processes including producing complex, confidential or sensitive reports, arranging Panel meetings, documents and correspondence.
" To provide a range of administrative support to projects across the service area as required, including producing project documentation, tracking actions, keeping records, collating information, diary management, setting up meetings and producing agendas,complex minute taking and subsequently transcribing the minutes and despatch same and liaison between key stakeholders.
" To maintain accurate data/information from/into a range of appropriate database(s)/ computer systems and/or website(s), producing management reports using spreadsheets and databases as appropriate.
About you, the successful will have:
" Prior experience working in Finance
" Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment
" Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
" Problem-solving skills as the job involves answering queries from Social Workers and their managers and guiding them through the process
" Excellent communication skills - both written & verbal
" Knowledge of Excel as the role involves working on several spreadsheets and updating information throughout the day
" Ability to work with different software/systems (Mosaic, Dynamics, Excel, etc.)
" Train new staff members as required
