Supporting the delivery of a professional and strategic People Operations (Workforce) service, providing oversight and management of Employment Relations casework, as well as standard work and project work within the People Operations team.

The Deputy People Partners are expected to work with the People Business Partners, People Advisors, Trainee People Advisors and People Officers to provide a comprehensive service for employee relations case work, as well as undertaking all standard work within People Operations (Workforce) and on-going project and developmental work. This may include assisting with the development of workforce plans for specialty groups.

This role will be assigned to lead the Trust’s Attendance Team and will be responsible for supporting leading the Team to advance the support to Managers managing staff Attendance and the development of associated policies and procedures. It is a really exciting time to join the Team as we are developing our new policy and the post holder will have an opportunity to be part of the development and roll out of this to Managers and leaders across the Trust.

Employee relations service - Lead
Responsible for the oversight of employee relations casework and associated key performance indicators. Including allocation of case work to People Advisor and Trainee People Advisors, liaising with People Business Partners regarding their cases and escalating as appropriate.
Offering support and expert HR advice and guidance. Co-ordinating cases for discussion at weekly case review meeting, this to include management and oversight case reviews meetings as appropriate for complex cases (with support of relevant People Business Partner).

Project and standard working - Lead
Responsible for providing oversight of both local workforce related projects within the People Operations (Workforce) department (such as TUPE transfers and management of change pieces), standard work such as monthly KPI reporting/board reports, reviews of HR policies and procedures with Trust wide impact, provision of managing attendance training as well as proactive development work on specific projects. Oversight of the job evaluation processes and scheduling of job evaluation panels. Deep dive audit support to assist with areas of concern (such as high absence levels)

Staff Management - Generic
The Deputy People Partners are responsible for the line management of the People Advisors and Trainee People Advisors who fall within their portfolio. This includes day to day management, appraisals, performance management, disciplinary, personal development and all other basic line management responsibilities.
Referral and contacting point for agreed work priorities under direction and leadership of Business Partner workstream lead (Employee Relations/Project and Standard work).

Deputise for People Business Partners - Generic
Where appropriate, deputise for People Business Partners at relevant meetings and forums in times of absence or for exposure to developmental opportunities.

Education/Training.

Provide training solutions to support service needs, including organisational development support, REACT training and bespoke training where needs are identified.
