An opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology on a permanent basis.

This post is based in a multidisciplinary locality CAMHS Team. The team provides a service to children and young people who present with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. NHS Lanarkshire provides excellent opportunities for training and career development.

The post holder will assess and offer therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families where the young person has identified emotional, behavioural and/or mental health issues appropriate in the locality CAMH Service. Contribute to a multi disciplinary CAMHS approach to young people’s mental health and wellbeing and work with the child/young person and their wider care system including professional networks. To manage own caseload within specialty area using specialist techniques and maintain clinical related records. To work with clinical psychology colleagues, and other mental health professionals to provide a psychology service to patients and to contribute to service delivery and to participate in service evaluation within the area as directed.

- ** The post Holder will deliver psychological approaches to care for Children, Young people and their families which can be delivered in a range of clinical settings and on digital platforms.**:
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
- The post holder must have an honours degree in psychology (eligible for GBR) and a post-graduate Masters level (or equivalent) degree in Psychological Therapy.
- Relevant clinical experience
- Have knowledge of relevant national and professional guidelines for optimal standards of clinical care.
- Have some knowledge of Psychiatry and other related professions in order to understand complex clinical presentation.
- Excellent communication skills
