My client are a leading software group with over 50 UK companies within their global portfolio.

This Payroll Specialist role will join the central portfolio team (incorporating payroll, compliance, legal, audit and tax personnel) that supports the wider group, and will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll for approx 1200 UKemployees, provide timely and accurate financial information and reconciliations, and participate in monthly data entry Payroll processing.

It will report to the Payroll Manager but take leadership responsibility for 2 other payroll processors in the team (one onshore, one offshore).

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform daily payroll department operations
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Post monthly payroll journals into Great Plains allocating cost as appropriate
- Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
- Process correct HMRC calculations and compliance
- Execute the Workday HR system interface with payroll (ADP)
- Perform monthly payroll account reconciliations
- Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (P14, P35s, etc)
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
- Update and reconcile monthly reconciliations from bank to ADP
- Load import files received from HR (All Companies)
- Respond to Employee queries
- Work as part of a team and alone to produce accurately produce monthly payroll
- Processing of auto-enrolment pension payments
- Ensuring HMRC payments are made on time
- Maintaining records of gross pay per employee
- Processing of P11Ds
- Ensure Attachment of Earnings, CSA, etc payments are made accurately and on time.
- Be a lead for 2 Payroll processors within the team

**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience processing payroll
- Working knowledge of payroll best practices
- Strong knowledge of HMRC and Government rules and regulations
- Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel
- Working knowledge of ADP beneficial
- Strong work ethic and team player
- High degree of professionalism
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
- Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
- Ability to communicate with various levels of management
- Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.

The team currently mix 4 days home working with one fixed day in the South Oxfordshire office. There will be expectation for further office visits during the training period.
