We are seeking to appoint a Head of Mainstream Day Services to lead Mackenney Day Centre team, based in Gillingham. Your key duties will be maintaining attendance levels, to oversee the continued development of the delivered meals service to become a cost centre covering all of Medway, and to ensure that all legislative and contract requirements are met.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Location**:Gillingham

**Hours**:37.5 hours per week
- 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
- Working 52 weeks per year including Bank Holidays (with the exclusion of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day).

**Starting salary**: £27,788

**The right applicant will have**:

- NVQ 4/5 or similar management qualification
- Experience in management
- Experience in leading/managing a service or department
- Experience or knowledge of dealing with statutory organisations such as Care Quality Commission (CQC), Health & Safety Executive, Environmental Health, local authorities, and the NHS.
- Demonstrable ability to maintain attendance levels and or similar.
- Experience managing KPIs relating to budgets..
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management at all levels and to act at all times with tact and diplomacy, this includes written communication
- Confidence to communicate with distressed clients and families
- Ability to support, inspire and manage our dedicated volunteers
- High level of ICT skills
- Effectively manage busy day services
- Demonstrable management and maintenance of quality standards and meet regulatory requirements
- Commitment to Equality & Diversity.
- Demonstrable knowledge of issues relating to people with Dementia and their needs.
- To hold a full driving licence (with D1 entitlement is beneficial but not essential).
- Hold an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, or be willing to work towards the qualification.
- Have experience of working with older people and related medical conditions.
- Must be prepared to have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Trustworthy in all aspects of the role
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
- A full appreciation of the value of co-operation within a team environmentPro-active approach and problem solver
- Ability to work with a wide range of people from different groups (Social Workers, Care Managers, District Nurses, Occupational Therapist)
