We are currently recruiting for a Warranty and Technical Support Officer to work for Thames valley police at their transport consortium in Biscester.

This is a temporary role working Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.

The overall purpose of the role is to: Manage and process all warranty claims, creating standardised procedures to maximise the value achieved from each claim submitted. Manage all British Transport Police (BTP) authorisations for work to commence, liaising with the partners to ensure vehicle availability is maintained within service level agreements, and issues are escalated to the relevant people in a timely manner.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITES
- Implement and manage warranty processes, ensuring all claims are maximised and submitted within time limitations. Create a standardised approach to claims submissions for Technicians to use. Work with the Workshop Managers and Supervisors to improve Technician awareness of correct claims procedures and requirements.
- Ensure old/retained warranty items at sites are kept to a minimum by performing regular audits and disposing of these parts through the correct channels to maximise space within stores/workshops area.
- Provide relevant information to the workshops such as recalls, technical service updates and bulletins. Ensure any associated work is completed in a timely manner and correct records are kept for audit purposes.
- Introduce procedures working alongside Fleet Manager, Workshop Mangers and Insurance Claims Handlers to minimise vehicle repair costs and downtime by utilising retained items from salvaged fleet.
- Act as the central point for authorisation of all BTP Service, Maintenance and Repair (SMR) to be undertaken, liaising with BTP Intelligent Client to update on issues and feedback fleet availability and to Fleet Manager looking at alternative options on parts, vehicle movements etc. to minimise vehicle off road time.
- Produce management information reports including but not limited to; vehicle availability, days of the road, parts supply issues, main dealer performance, outsource contractor performance for internal monitoring and external presentation.
- Attend out source provider meetings to discuss performance/adherence to set key performance indicators evidencing findings and working with the provider to optimise service delivery.
- Manage the data accuracy across all fleet management systems and databases. Ensure regular auditing is undertaken, with any errors corrected, failures identified and processes improved to prevent any future failures.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Current experience of warranty administration in a large workshop environment.
- Ability to demonstrate process reengineering or create new processes to improve efficiency, productivity and standardised ways of working.
- Willingness and ability to attend further training for warranty provision both on line and face to face.
- Experience of using and updating databases and willingness to learn and maintain up to date knowledge of fleet/workshop software packages.
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of contract and relationship management.
- Valid DVLA licence and proven driving experience is essential as travel between sites will be required.

DESIRABLE
- Relevant City & Guilds, NVQ level III or equivalent Qualification in Motor Vehicle Technology
