**Junior Quality Engineer** required for my client based near to Crawley, West Sussex.

They also have an office in South Nutfield, Redhill, which may require travel too.

The successful junior quality engineer will join an existing team of engineers where they will be able to develop their skillset and progress throughout the company. They should have a keen interest / experience within CMM.

**Junior Quality EngineerPosition Overview**
- To manage the metrology resources of the company, either in-house or at supplier's premises, to ensure that manufacturing process performance is effectively evaluated.
- The initial scope includes; Vision/CMM measurement equipment and Pressure testing equipment.
- Create and validate measurement programmes (including part fixtures) for: New and updated parts and Changes to manufacturing process.
- Ensure that controls are in place for the management of: Measurement programs, Measurement fixtures, Operator instructions.
- Working with the supplier, agree inspection methods and frequencies, and ensure that the requirement is documented within the operator instructions.
- Defining and executing planned maintenance / checks, to ensure that the required equipment uptime is achieved, and that machine accuracy is maintained.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Monitor equipment usage and resolve any potential capacity issues.
- Update weekly reports on: Equipment usage and Measurement data.
- Review measurement data reports, including identifying and correcting: Measurement errors and Manufacturing process errors (with the engineering department and/or suppliers, as appropriate).
- Perform 1st part inspection / sample approval on new and updated parts.
- Execute sampling plans, at either the companies or supplier's premises, for: Assemblies, Piece parts and Raw material
- Provide direction for future development of companies' metrology equipment/methods.
- Contribute to companies' culture of continuous improvement, leading teams to reduce waste and build mistake-proofing techniques into our existing processes.
- Support Goods Inward Inspection during periods of absence (holiday etc.)

**Junior Quality EngineerPosition Requirements**
- Degree/HND qualified in an engineering discipline.
- Previous experience with an industrial engineering company in a production environment, in either of the following areas: Electro/Mechanical assembly and Precision CNC machining
- Hands-on practical problem solver; able to identify the root cause of concerns and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Able to deal firmly, but amicably, with suppliers to ensure that the quality of their products is continuously improved and that any issues are resolved in a timely manner and without cost.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, reacting to quick changes effectively.
- Prepared to travel to 2 work locations: South Nutfield & Crawley
- Must speak and write fluent technical English.
- Based within a commutable distance of Crawley and South Nutfield.
- Full UK driving license.

**Beneficial**
- Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience of an MRP / ERP system (preferably Dynamics 365).
- Background in metrology (e.g. CMM equipment) and product inspection methods.
- Six sigma green or black belt.
- Design software experience (AutoCAD, Inventor, and AutoDesk Inventor).
- Experience or knowledge of PowerBI.

**Junior Quality EngineerPosition Remuneration**
- Junior Quality Engineer: graduate = £27,000 - 29,000.
- Monday to Friday: 08:45 - 17:15.
- Pension upon joining the company (5%).
- Life assurance, after qualifying probationary period (6 months).
- Out of pocket expenses reimbursed.
- Private healthcare and increased pension (8%) contributions after further qualifying period (2-3 years).
- 33 days holiday, including UK Bank holidays.
- After long service holiday increases further.
