**Quality Engineer**required for my client based near to Crawley, West Sussex.

The successful quality engineer will be in charge of managing the quality of the mechanical products at the company.

**Quality Engineer - MechanicalPosition Overview**
- With other members of the quality department, be actively involved in the day-to-day production/test & despatch activities, and suggest actions to resolve the immediate quality issue and then to prevent their recurrence
- Become familiar with all of the manufacturing processes and assist in the identification of higher risk activities / components, then suggesting possible preventative measures.
- As directed by the Quality Manager, support our design and manufacturing teams to identify and implement changes to our products to improve quality, process throughput and reduce costs.
- Working on nominated projects, develop work packages and procedures to assist the transition between design and manufacture
- Generate sample approval packages for new parts / assemblies, and present for QM approval.
- Begin to develop and build close relationships with assigned suppliers, communicating the needs of the company in a professional manner so that we get the best response from them.
- Understand how non-conformances are transacted through the companies MRP system, and assist quality engineers in raising supplier return transactions/documents.
- Fully understand and support the quality department data collection/ reporting processes. Ensuring that data is current and accurate.
- Contribute to the companies' culture of continuous improvement, by participating in teams to reduce waste and build mistake-proofing techniques into our existing processes.
- Assist with the identification and routine calibration of gauges & instruments.
- Assist in developing practical working documentation, for example work processes and test documentation, to support production.
- Assist in developing, implementing and auditing adherence to process flow charts covering nominated business processes.

**Quality Engineer - MechanicalPosition Requirements**
- Previous experience with an industrial engineering company in a production environment, in either of the following areas: Electro/Mechanical assembly and/or Precision CNC machining.
- Degree / HND qualified in an engineering degree.
- Experience of MRP / ERP system (preferably Dynamics 365) is desirable.
- Background in Quality Assurance and product inspection methods is desirable.
- Six sigma green belt experience and software experience; AutoCAD, Inventor, Autodesk Inventor is desirable.
- Immediate to advanced level within Microsoft Office packages.
- Hands-on practical problem solver, able to identify the root cause of concerns and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Able to deal firmly, but amicably, with suppliers to ensure that the quality of their products is continuously improved and that any issues are resolved in a timely manner and without cost.
- Speak and write fluent technical English.
- Based within a commutable distance of Crawley, West Sussex.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

**Quality Engineer - MechanicalPosition Remuneration**
- Full time working position - Monday to Friday (08:45am to 17:15pm).
- 33 days holiday package (inclusive of bank holidays). After long service this increases further.
- Out of pocket expenses reimbursed.
- Company pension scheme (5%) and Life assurance after qualifying probationary period.
- Private health and increased pension contributions (8%) after further qualifying period.
