Supported Steps has two small supported living home based in the village of Ramsey Mereside and Ramsey town in Cambridgeshire, we support young adults with autism and learning disabilities to live independently.

With our support, we will give people within our care a voice to have control over their lives, the way they wish to live it.

**Aims**

Our aims at Supported Steps are to provide a high standard of living for disabled young adults in an intimate home-from-home environment, and to encourage the independence of the service user, whatever their abilities.

**Job Summary**

You will be supporting young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities, including autism. You will be joining an intimate supported living home that enables individuals to become more independent with their day-to-day lives. You will also be required to support them with their household activities/tasks, and community activities, such as going to the gym; cinema; and walks. You will be joining an established and friendly staff team, where management are actively involved in the day-to-day care of the service users.

Shifts are 7 / 7.5 hours per day. The early shift is 7.30 am - 2.30 pm and the late shift is 2.30 pm - 10 pm. You will be working on a rolling rota as part of a team. This will include working weekends, with paid sleep-in shifts. It is likely that the successful applicant will be asked to work a full day shift (7.30 am - 10 pm) on one day of the weekend.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- To provide the necessary support to enable people to achieve their preferred lifestyles and ambitions, as described in their care plan. This could include supporting them to become more independent with personal care, housework, finance, spiritual and cultural needs.
- To follow guidelines to support people to make decisions.
- To support people to maintain their rights, dignity, privacy and respect.
- To work flexibly to meet people’s support needs, ensuring the day today support is provided as required.
- To work with and follow procedures and guidelines, as specified by management, and other professionals involved.
- To maintain accurate and through written; numerical; and electronic records in respect of the people you support, and the organisation.
- To support people in taking medication in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
- To communicate and engage effectively with all people involved in a person’s life.
- To contribute to improving the quality of support provided through working with others.
- To report any areas of concern to management.
- To complete Support Steps’ induction within the first six months of employment, as well as continued mandatory online training.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 16 per week
