This is an exciting time to be joining the Development and Alumni Engagement Team (DAE) at the University of Warwick. We’re entering the early planning stages of a new major philanthropic campaign, which will significantly scale the ambition for the University’s fundraising and engagement activity.

The Donor Relations Officer is a new post, and if you enjoy working on communications and events that are highly customer centric and demonstrate impact, you’ll be a great match for our team. In this role, you’ll be working on communications to thank and engage donors of all levels, organising visits and adding sparkle to donor experiences in creative and bespoke ways.

You’ll play an integral role in developing and delivering high quality donor stewardship for supporters at all levels: from Regular Giving, Major Gifts to Principal Gifts and Volunteers, as a means of building trusted, loyal and long-term relationships with our donor community and inspiring existing donors to give at a higher level. You’ll make a difference every day, and no day will be the same.

**JOB PURPOSE**

With a focus on communications, play an integral role in developing and delivering strategy to steward donors at Regular Giving, Major Gifts and Principal Gifts levels that will be deployed across the Development and Alumni Engagement team as a means of improving donor retention and inspiring existing donors to give at a higher level.
Project managing donor relations and donor cultivation communications of the highest quality, such as bespoke reports, thank you letters, priority project communications, press releases, videos and social media activity, and including our annual suite of impact reports. Leads specific stewardship projects and initiatives in support of the philanthropy team.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

As directed by the Senior Donor Relations Manager but will include:
**1.** Developing and delivering our stewardship strategy, using data segmentation practices, to engage and thank donors at Regular Giving, Major Gifts and Principal Gifts level, across integrated communications channels including donor relations events.
- Provides an excellent donor experience through a planned annual calendar of stewardship opportunities, making use of direct mail, digital media, bespoke forms of communication, PR, and online and physical donor and beneficiary events.
- Leads specific stewardship projects and initiatives in support of the philanthropy team.
- Creates tailored communications and stewardship plans for higher level donors linked to the customer relationship management database (BBCRM).

**2.** Project managing donor relations and donor cultivation communications of the highest quality, such as bespoke reports, thank you letters, priority project communications, press releases, videos and social media activity, and including our annual suite of impact reports.
- Understands diverse interests of donor audiences across all giving levels, and how to develop messaging strategies that engage them.
- Ability to lead and deliver donor impact reports from start to completion and review.
- Creative and innovative approach to devising ‘donor-centric’ content.
- Includes working with academics and our professional services teams to develop bespoke reports on student support, research and capital projects.
- Ability to write engaging and compelling copy for a diverse range of audiences using the appropriate style and tone of voice. The post holder will be required to translate complex information to make it accessible for the relevant target audience.
- Strong editing skills to hone reports submitted by scholars and researchers.
- Familiarity with briefing designers to produce printed and digital content.
- Requires excellent communication skills and capacity to build trust quickly with business enablers.
- Requires comfort delivering high levels of performance under tight timelines.

**4.** Helping to deliver a donor cultivation and stewardship events strategy.
- Proactively takes responsibility for anticipating and identifying problems in workflows, and demonstrates the judgement required to resolve challenges.
