Job overview

We are looking for a system administrator for our Emergency Department (ED) to work alongside our clinical digital leads using your own initiative and be responsible for the effective maintenance and management of ED Clinical computer Systems.

This role will be based on site at QMC campus for operational purposes for all of role

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for ensuring the business continuity for planned and unplanned downtime of ED IT systems is maintained and followed

You will be involved in setting up the access and training all new members of staff across our Emergency Department to ensure they have the necessary tools to do their role for patients attending our department and throughout their ED journey

You will be expected to ensure accurate information is being recorded within clinical systems and challenge staff when repeated errors occur.

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria
- Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or experience.
- 5 GCSE’s or equivalent including English
- Administration skills
- Knowledge and experience of using software programmes, e.g., Microsoft Office, Teams

Desirable criteria
- Recognised administration qualification e.g. NVQ in administration
- IT Qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
- Extensive experience and systems knowledge of Careflow and Nervecentre within the Emergency Department
- Knowledge of Hospital systems
- Medical terminology.
- Able to update and maintain systems and produce information as required
- Able to produce training literature for clinical systems

Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of a range of system procedures with a proven office experience.
- Previous systems development experience
