Job Summary:
This is a challenging and rewarding role for a skilled Paediatric Emergency Department Staff Nurse who is looking to take on a clinical leadership position within our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for supporting the Charge Nurse in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Charge Nurse in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures.
- Take charge of the ward occasionally in the absence of the Charge Nurse, maintaining a similar style of management to ensure continuity.
- Comply with Health and Safety policies, particularly in relation to fire procedures.
- Be aware of your role in relation to the Drug Custody and Administration Code of Practice.
- Report all accidents and untoward incidents to the Nurse in charge of the ward.
- Assist the Charge Nurse in introducing new members of staff to their duties.
- Supervise newly appointed qualified staff and demonstrate procedures as required.
- Support the work of student nurses, reporting their progress to the Charge Nurse.
Requirements:
This role is ideal for a Paediatric Emergency Department Staff Nurse who is looking to take on a more senior role within our team. You will need to have excellent clinical skills, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
