- Situated in Hove close to the sea, the Lighthouse is a specialist service for people over the age of 18, living in Brighton and Hove who are experiencing Personality Disorder (PD) and Emotional Intensity.
**The role**:
- The Southdown staff team deliver the Community Programme for the service with clinical in-reach from Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT) and Mind Brighton and Hove (MBH) offering peer support volunteering elements of the partnership.
- To coordinate a team of Recovery Advisors together with the Team Manager in the delivery of a Community Programme of activity-based group treatment. Groups that provide social, creative, peer support, and psychosocial recovery-focused groups and sessions to engage members (clients) in self-management of their condition and develop their personal skills in recovery and increase their well-being.
- To plan and coordinate the Community Group Programme over 7 days including groups and activities, in co-production with members.
- Provide cover for member Engagement Support Sessions and facilitate Community groups when staff are absent.
- To deputise in the absence of the Team Manager and be present in the building during the day for issues and enquiries that may arise.
**What you will bring**:
- Experience working with people with mental health needs to support them to achieve recovery goals through care planning and facilitating groups.
- Experience in coordinating a team, strong administration and ICT skills.
- You will be able to demonstrate a good level of self-reflection, skills in emotional management and a desire to embrace the therapeutic challenges of working within mental health and recovery work.
- You will be able to demonstrate a high level of resilience and ability to work in partnership with other professionals to manage risk and challenging behaviour while promoting inclusivity and challenging stigma.
- This is an exciting opportunity to be involved and contribute to the development of our mental health services within the city. You will be closely supported in your role by the Lighthouse management team and full training/induction will be given.
