**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our Sales & Marketing team and focus primarily on supporting the Training & Learning Development area of CDS Defence & Security. You will report intothe Business Development Lead and will play an integral part in the success of the Training area.

- Win annual and long term opportunities in line with the Marketing and Sales business plan for growth
- Develop, maintain and execute a sales forecast and pipeline of near and mid-term opportunities.
- Working with the Business Development Principal and Training & Learning Development Managers, develop a sector leading value proposition, focusing on deliverable opportunities within addressable and serviceable markets.
- Build and develop meaningful knowledge, awareness and understanding of relevant market area and contemporary development/innovation within it.
- Build and sustain a solid understanding of pan-company CDS DS services and capabilities, and lead on refining these in line with client requirements.
- Provide market intelligence and sales forecasts to support routine and annual business planning.
- Drive the population and updating of sales data to ensure reliable sales forecasting.
- Accordingly, maintain all appropriate MIS platforms (incl HubSpot).

**Skills, Qualifications and Experience**
- Have a demonstrable business development or sales record, in the defence and/or security consultancy sectors.
- Have a background in military/defence training and knowledge of the associated standards, methodologies (e.g. JSP 822 and ADDIE), complemented by a good working knowledge of Defence and Security consultancy markets.
- Currently hold UK Security Clearance or are able to gain Clearances.

- Have an existing network of customers and influential industry players to further influence and expand.
- Have the personal drive and appetite to grow a successful business further, able to achieve stretch targets and business development goals.
- Have the clarity of thought and ability to translate information technically and creatively, to formulate value propositions and winning strategies, maximising competitive advantages for the company.
- Be flexible in approach, adaptable, tenacious in delivery and follow-through.
- Be a team player committed to success through nurturing the success of others.
- Be qualified to bachelor’s degree level.
- Have a high degree of commercial awareness

**Vetting**:
Due to the nature of this role and the business, you will need to either currently hold UK Government clearance to a minimum of SC level or be able to undergo and mantain this level of clearance.
