**Bank Receptionist/Administrator (30 hours/week)**
**Based at The Sadie Centre, Rosehill Hospital, Hitchin Road, Letchworth, SG6 3NA**
**General**:
The Sadie Centre is a flourishing charity with a national reputation as a centre of excellence, providing a wide range of interventions which enhance health and wellbeing. Based on a peaceful 8 ½ acre greenbelt site between Hitchin and Letchworth, it offers a unique environment in which to work - one which is un-corporate yet professional. Receptionists play a key role in welcoming clients and in guiding them to the Centre’s many services.
The position would ideally suit someone with a keen interest in complementary approaches to health and in sharing that interest with others. It requires someone enthusiastic, confident and open to learning; someone flexible and able, and when necessary, to provide sickness and holiday cover for colleagues.
This is a position requiring initiative, energy and ‘common sense’ - essential for working in an often busy and sometimes challenging environment.
The role is a varied one and incorporates:
- Face-to-face greeting of clients and other visitors
- Responding to telephone queries
- Booking appointments, taking payments for sessions
- Guiding clients to the activity most appropriate to their needs
- Ensuring the smooth running of the Clinic/Counselling building
- Providing admin support for all staff
**Hours**:2:30pm - 8:30pm Monday to Friday, plus attendance at training events and at meetings at other times to be agreed in advance.
**Salary**: £10.42 / hour
**Hours**: Monday to Wednesday 4pm to 8.30pm and Thursday and Friday 2.30pm to 8.30pm (from March to April and then ad hoc days and hours or potential for permanent role)
**Responsible for**: Providing customer care to the Centre’s clients and visitors and administrative support to the Centre’s staff
**As first point of contact for clients and visitors**, the Receptionist/Administrator would:
- Provide a warm, welcoming, helpful, professional, efficient, and accurate service.
**As Administrator**, the Receptionist/Administrator would:
- Provide support for practitioners, tutors, counsellors, coaches, and other Centre staff.
**As a team member**, the Receptionist/Administrator would:
- Participate in training, team meetings and events, some of which may be held outside regular working hours.
- Provide cover for colleagues during holidays and illness.
- Follow Centre policies and procedures.

**Tasks**:
Client-facing
- Greet clients and book appointments by telephone and in person, and record these onto the database
- Collect payments for all Centre activities by debit/credit card, cheque, or cash.
- Provide information and guidance about Centre activities.
- Resolve client concerns and complaints and escalate those when appropriate.
Staff/Admin support
- Balance day’s takings at the end of each day and troubleshooting difficulties which may arise.
- Share information with other Reception/Admin team members.
- Support counsellors, practitioners, coaches, and tutors with their admin needs.
- Assist the Head of Operations with administrative tasks.
- Book rooms for practitioners and external clients, take payment or ensure the room booking information is recorded appropriately for invoicing.
The buildings
- Secure building at night and lock up.
- Ensure smooth running of both clinic and classroom buildings.
